I have always been into music. Whether it was singing in school choir, playing the trumpet or traveling with a church group to perform musicals, long story. In school I used to rap with other kids. I was usually the one providing the beat boxing, although I wanted to be the one doing the rhyming. Little did I know that eventually I would have my choice years later with my little brothers.
My brothers and I probably have the same type of influences. This probably can be attributed to a father who loved music and passed that love on to his boys. He's not dead, didn't mean to make it sound like that. It's just that he really, really loves music. I can remember my dad and I listening to the radio and him asking me questions like "Who sings this?" My answer was usually wrong, but it taught me to actually listen to the song. Thanks Dad!
Did anyone know that the INTRYNSIK lead singer was actually kicked out of choir? Yes, it is true. I was kicked out of many things in my scholastic past. Hard to believe, huh? Not really if you knew me back then. Mrs. Brown really had no choice I was a little punk ass kid who just wouldn't listen. Wood and I were actually kicked out of another local band too. The reasons they gave were: Didn't like the vocals (me). Had too many guitars in the band (Wood).
Growing up I listened to just about everything that you could imagine. The list included: Eddie Rabbit, Johnny Horton, Elvis of course, Jethro Tull, Alice Cooper, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, N.W.A., The Police, Devo, Guns N' Roses, Timmy T, Too Short, Van Halen, The Beatles, Ron C, Prince, Madonna, REO Speedwagon, Duran Duran, etc.
I can honestly say that INTRYNSIK is a melting pot of many different genres of music. I hope that our fans see that and find something about our music that makes it special to them. Stay tuned ………….
